Top customer reviewsBy Michael M on 30th August 2019 I’ve tried many Karate Gi & the Odachi is a very comfortable Gi for a 14oz heavyweight. Looks good & well suited for cold weather & for warmers weather when you want to sweat. In most brands I have worn a size 6 190cm , but on the suggestion from Blitz based upon my size they recommended the size 5 & it fits superbly with plenty of room for performance of techniques. I will definitely order this Gi again! By Mo on 2nd October 2018 Fits great, very comfortable even in extreme long duration training. Would have preferred the logo to be on the back rather than front. By AC on 27th February 2018 Lovely gi but odd cut - extremely wide in relation to the length. My 12 year old is average sized in all regards but this was like a tent on him! By Bob D. on 16th November 2017 Fit is spot on straight out of the pack (size 7 for a bloke 6' 3\", 100kg, 48\" chest, 40\" waist), which means cool wash and air dry as I couldn't afford a lot of shrinkage. Jacket is nice and long but the sleeves are just right. Trousers have a nice high waist and are ankle length.
Ties are all of the tape type rather than canvas, personally I prefer this (one of the reasons I moved away from Kamikaze was they stopped using these), but I know some people prefer it the other way.
Lots of free space around the armpits and plenty of width across the shoulders so easy to move in, trousers are also free for high kicking (if you like that sort of thing :-) ), and the whole thing is well finished. By GJohnston on 2nd November 2017 Quite nice but the jackets a little narrower than expected for the Gi size (mines a 200), also has a tiny red mark on one sleeve which looks like dye of some sort. Would have been five stars had it not been for these two things. By Ian Lumsden on 25th June 2017 I have reasently purchased the odachi gi, I also have the silver tournament gi which is excellent. The Odachi gi is the best gi I have purchased to date, the quality and fit is the best I have come across and well worthy of five stars. By maksud on 15th February 2017 I have received on time.good quality and good fittings.i am very pleased.little bit expensiveMaksud By Mike Turczyn on 18th January 2017 I own 7 different Gi's and this Odachi Gi is by far the best I've had. Nice soft material whilst still maintaining a sharp snap when executing techniques. Well worth the money. By Pawel S. on 31st August 2016 Frankly, I did not know what to expect while ordering this gi. I usually prefered 12oz uniforms, and this one was 14oz.Another thing is the size. I had ordered the exact size without ''+5'' as usual recommendations. Then I received the gi in the day of my training, so I immediately took it on the tests. It was a true Express delivery !And... I am extremely happy with the choice. It fits perfectly for me and I am not slim. If you are a big guy with wide shoulders and larger belly, take a size up definitely. This uniform has a mesh inside for shoulders so it is very comfortable to wear during the excercises. No feeling of sticking to the body uniform.Already washed it... yes, shrunk a bit since it is a canvas gi, but still fits comfortably. Can't wait for another training.Highly recommended. By Ruth Lambert on 21st February 2016 Usually take a size 160, never varies. This one was huge. Ended up with kids size 145. Mind you it's a great fit, great gi, and customer service was excellent - returned free, replacement sent. Fantastic. If sizing had been better would have been 5 stars. By D. Lawton on 19th January 2016 Brilliant, speedy delivery. Niece loves it. Good quality By Adrian on 12th January 2016 I've tried several Blitz Gi's including the White Diamond. This is without doubt the best of them all. Great cut, very durable. 5 stars :) By Mark Williams on 27th October 2015 Top quality Gi, very surprise how durable it is , would definitely recommend it. By Andy on 6th August 2015 Love this gi. Good quality and love the heavy weight feel. By John Hilton on 5th August 2015 Looks and feels good. The trouser legs don't seem to stick to your legs as much as my previous Gi once the sweat starts building up and the mesh across the inside of the jacket shoulders adds comfort when working hard too. Only down side for me is the trouser leg is full length and I prefer them a little shorter - easy sorted though. By Chris on 5th August 2015 The best fitting suit I have ever brought. I didn't need to alter the trousers and the top fitted very snug. A tip for anyone buying a 14oz gi, don't put it in the washing machine what ever you do as you will not get the creases out. Dry clean about every three months, In between soak it flat in the bath over night with some washing powder, rinse with cold water ideally with the shower keeping it flat. Don't ring it out hang it you outside to dry then iron. Sorted. By rich harrison on 5th August 2015 Really nice comfortable gi with a professional feel, nice balance for kata and kumite, great value for money By DBH on 9th June 2015 There doesn't seem to be a lot said about this relatively new gi online, so I'll try my best here. The gi is a fine quality strong and well stitched. My main problem with it at the moment is it's sizing. I got the gi for my height and the thing is huge! massive across the shoulders and insanely long in the leg. I've washed it twice trying to shrink the thing and I'm still pulling the bottoms up to my chest just to stop them from dragging on the floor - which for a Japanese cut is just ridiculous. This problem may go away if the gi shrinks enough, but I feel that there should be some sort of size chart that gives you the measurements of legs, sleeves and shoulders so that you can check for yourself before buying. The Gi is very snappy though and when doing techniques, gives you that whip effect which is very satisfying. Also the lining inside the shoulder is a nice addition. I would suggest going a size under, but I've heard of people have problems with Blitz sizings before and it might just be that I got an odd one. I only wish that it didn't take me almost a month to get this one delivered, otherwise I would consider getting it changed. Word to the wise: If you have a store nearby, go try on a few first to get the sizes right. By David J. Hayward on 11th May 2015 This Gi felt awesome from the moment I took it out of the bag, and my opinion went up from that moment. For a start it is difficult to get a Japanese cut Gi (shorter arms and legs for those that don't know) that is designed for the European body type as they generally end up being very narrow, especially when you are big in the chest. But, this Gi is a perfect fit. Even at 177cm & 105kg with a 48" chest. However I have gone a half size bigger than my height would normally require, although I need to do this in every Gi as I am so big in the shoulders and chest. It has plenty of room for free movement without looking oversized and awkward and has lots of nice design touches, such as the mesh in the shoulders so it does not stick to you when it gets sweaty and make it difficult to move, and the jacket is very long meaning that even if it rides up it still feels comfortable and does not come un-tucked from the belt.If I had one grumble about this Gi it would be the ties. They feel flimsy and cheap, and feel like the waist cord cuts in a little when pulled reasonably tight because they go quite thin when pulled to tie. A friend of mine has a White Diamond and the Odachi, and did a bit of research on it. Apparently this was a deliberate change as Blitz received a lot of negative feedback on the more substantial ties of the White Diamond. To be fair I don't really notice the difference on the jacket on the jacket ties once on, and the trouser ties are easy enough to swap from an older Gi if it bothers me that much.Overall I would rate this Gi as highly as my Kamikaze/Kaiten America, and it is a good £30-£40 cheaper. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! By Emil on 3rd March 2015 excellent, fast delivery By Wayne on 5th December 2014 So disappointed when The Japan gi was delisted... but WHAT a replacement! The Odachi is stunning in every way and excellent quality. Our group's new favourite gi! By Adam Hawke on 1st December 2014 This suit is worth the money. Perfect for executing kata, traditional work and Kihons. Also great for sparring in. Sweat absorbent material is a bonus for those who work hard. All in all, a great buy. Would recommend for senior karate-ka and fellow instructors. By Kevin pettitt on 21st November 2014 Looks like a great product. By Kevin pettitt on 21st November 2014 Looks like a great product By Kevin Barlow on 12th November 2014 Looks a nice Gi, if its as good and reliable as the White Diamond,I will give it a try.
Keep up the good work guys.
