Tapered staffs are used when speed and precision are more important than raw power and weight. The Blitz Wooden Tapered Bo Staff has a 3cm diameter centre that tapers to 2cm at the ends, resulting to a light, more agile, staff when moving and spinning. Perfect for demonstrations, rather than sparring. Easy to wipe clean before and after use. Dimensions: 180cm long. 800g. Please note that this product is not for sale to people under the age of 18. Top customer reviewsBy Kernow Karate on 6th August 2015 This is an excellent product at a very reasonable price. When I tried to buy an extra long deck brush handle to use as a bo it was twice the price. The tapered ends make it more manageable and cool looking. I have bought over 50 for my club in the last couple of years without a single complaint. By Nadine on 26th November 2014 Fabulous value for money, light weight bo staff great for a beginner in weapons training. Bought as a gift for someone who is just starting with weapons but I would happily use it instead of my more expensive version. By RAG on 18th May 2014 I have weighed 3 of our bo and they average 970g each. We have used these at our dojo in Woking for years. Our sensei has a bo he bought in Okinawa (at a huge cost) and that weighs 995g, so these are pretty much bang on. We have only ever broken one at the end during a particularly strenuous bout against a Japanese oak bokken, so they are tough! By RAG on 6th February 2014 I've been using one of these for 8 years for Ryukyu Kobudo kata and kumite. They are not as dense or hard a wood as Okinawan bo (or as heavy!!) but at the price they are unbeatable. Very tough and withstand repeated abuse - ideal for student and sensei alike. I do find the quality of the red oak wood varies from bo to bo, but as I say, at the price, no grumbles at all. I've purchased several of these over the years for our dojo and happy with their use.
